KNUSFORD Bhd said that its subsidiary, Radiant Seas Sdn Bhd (RSSB), has been named as a fourth-party defendant in a lawsuit filed by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).
The lawsuit stems from reclamation works conducted near a Submarine Cable Project in Johor.
TNB is seeking RM76.56 million in damages, along with other financial claims, due to alleged encroachment and damage to infrastructure from 2013-2014.
As part of the legal process, other companies, including RSSB, have been brought into the case for indemnity or contribution.
The legal dispute began in 2020 when TNB filed its original claim and has since evolved with multiple parties bringing claims against each other.
Tebrau Bay Constructions Sdn Bhd (TBCSB), one of the primary defendants, initiated third-party proceedings against Pembinaan Hamid Abd Rahman Sdn Bhd (PHSB), which in turn initiated fourth-party proceedings against RSSB.
While the suit is not expected to have immediate operational impacts, RSSB is seeking legal advice and will appoint counsel to defend against the claim.
If the lawsuit is successful, RSSB could face financial consequences, including damages and legal costs. — TMR
