MAHB takeover offer deadline extended to Jan 24

THE Gateway Development Alliance (GDA) consortium, comprising Khazanah Nasional Bhd, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), has extended the closing date for its takeover offer for Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) to January 24, from the previous deadline of January 17.

This marks the second extension, after the original deadline was moved from January 8.

As of January 15, GDA has secured 86.18% of the total issued shares of MAHB, but it still falls short of the 90% acceptance threshold needed to complete the takeover.

The offer to privatise MAHB remains at RM11 per share.

MAHB shares closed down 4 sen to RM10.90 today, with 1.01 million shares changing hands. –TMR
