FOREIGN investors continued net selling on the local stock market. As of the week ended Dec 6, they have been net selling on Bursa Malaysia for the seventh consecutive week.
In the same week, the average daily trading volume (ADTV) showed a reduction across all investor categories except local retail investors, according to an equity fund flow report released by the MIDF Research today.
For the first time in 10 weeks, the report noted that foreigners net bought Asian equities across the eight markets it monitors, resulting in a total inflow of US$5.16 billion.
The reversal in net buying activities was primarily attributable to the large inflows recorded in India and Taiwan. All countries, except India, Taiwan, and Indonesia experienced a net outflow, it added. – TMR
