As of 9.32am, 37,189 individuals from 11,385 families have been displaced, with 322 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) set up across Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Perlis, Johor and Perak.

“A total of 322 PPS have been opened across the six states so far,” he said during his Prime Minister Question Time today.

Kelantan remains the worst affected, with 30,582 evacuees from 9,223 families sheltering at 157 PPS across nine districts.

Anwar commended the efforts of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and state governments for their preparedness this year, ensuring improved disaster response and close coordination between federal and state agencies.

“NADMA has been instructed to streamline the coordination of all federal and state agency resources to ensure the safety and welfare of flood victims,” he said.

He added that the safety and welfare of flood victims remain the government’s top priority throughout the northeast monsoon season, which began in November and is expected to continue until March 2025.
