SOME parties might be taking advantage of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology regarding the corruption scandal related to a state project, says Sindumin assemblyman Datuk Yusof Yacob.
A Malay news portal reported that Yusof, the chairman of Qhazanah Sabah Bhd who was linked to the matter, is ready to cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate allegations that he was involved in a recent corruption scandal.
“Let them (the videos) go viral, now there is a problem with AI. No need to (deny), just say let MACC investigate if there is a case.
“We will answer many, many more (questions) will (emerge)…Now this can be all kinds of AI,” he said as quoted by Sinar Harian.
Yusof, who is also the Gagasan Rakyat Sindumin Division Head did not rule out that it was one of the enemy’s agenda to topple him considering that the state election (PRN) is about to come.
“Well, it’s normal, I wish we were strong, we were stable, there are many ways people do that, our enemies.
“In this politics, we don’t know who our enemies are,” he said.
Yesterday, a 17-second video was uploaded by a portal showing voice recordings of conversations allegedly involving Sabah assemblymen and contractors regarding corruption activities.
It is believed to have been extracted from one of the eight videos that the whistleblower intends to be submitted to MACC.
On Nov 9, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that a whistleblower involved in the case of state assemblymen filmed discussing “bribes” met with senior officers from the commission on Oct 30.
Malaysiakini reported that during the meeting, the lawyer had only played a 17-second audio clip for the officers in which several people were heard having a conversation about money.
Azam urged the whistleblower to file an official complaint with the commission to enable the process of protection under the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010. – TMR
