29 areas in KL to face unscheduled water disruption due to pipe burst

KUALA LUMPUR — A total of 29 areas around the federal capital will experience unscheduled water supply disruptions beginning at 6am today due to emergency repairs on a burst pipe at Hub Pasar Seni here.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), in a statement, said that the affected areas include Apartment Putra Ria, Brickfields, Bukit Bandaraya, Bukit Bangsar, Bukit Damansara, Bukit Persekutuan, Bukit Tunku, Damansara Heights, Damansara Town Centre, Idamansara and Jalan Sultan Hishammuddin.

The company said the repairs are expected to be completed by 1am tomorrow and that water will be distributed in stages once the main water supply distribution system has stabilised.

“The duration of the water supply recovery period differs depending on the location of the consumer’s premises and the water pressure in the distribution system. However, the water supply is expected to fully recover by 1pm tomorrow (Wednesday),” according to the statement.

Air Selangor also mentioned that water tankers will be mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral homes during the unscheduled water supply disruption.
