Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur not for sale, say owners

Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the iconic hotel which presented Hard Rock Cafe to Malaysia in 1991, is not up for sale.

In a statement today (Sept 12), the hotel’s owners and shareholders said it wished to assure its valued guests, partners and the community that the hotel was not for sale.

“Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur continues to thrive, thanks to our dedicated team and loyal guests. Our business is performing exceptionally well and we are seeing strong results. Our shareholders are satisfied with our progress and the direction we are taking,” said Tan Sri Sallehuddin Mohamed, chairman of Ampang Hotel Sdn Bhd which owns the hotel.

Rebranded from the former Merlin Hotel which has stood tall for the past 67 years since Malaysia’s independence, Sallehuddin said Concorde Kuala Lumpur was fully committed to its continued operation and legacy.

“Now into our 33rd year in the hospitality business, Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur is here to stay. We remain focused on enhancing our services and expanding our offerings to better serve our valued clientele. We appreciate the continued support and look forward to welcoming guests for many years to come,” he said. – TMR
