Trump Media shares plunge 14.4% after debate with Harris

MOSCOW — Trump Media & Technology Group Corp stock dropped 14.4 per cent in Wednesday pre-market trading, according to stock trading data, Sputnik News Agency reported.

The media stock, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the DJT symbol that takes after Donald J. Trump’s initials, fell sharply after the Republican presidential candidate debated Democratic contender Kamala Harris on ABC News on Tuesday night. It closed 3.27 per cent higher on Tuesday.

Trump Media & Technology Group Corp is a parent company of social media platform Truth Social, owned by the US former president. Trump has a more than 50 per cent stake in the group, which has a market value of $3.7 billion.

On September 10, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris clashed in their first debate of the 2024 election cycle.

A CNN poll of debate watchers found that 63 per cent of registered voters thought Harris outperformed Trump. The US presidential election will be held on Nov 5. — BERNAMA-SPUTNIK
