PUTRAJAYA — The National Registration Department (JPN) has stressed that applications for and printing of MyKad identity cards can only be done in Malaysia.
In a statement today, it said that Malaysian citizens residing abroad must return to Malaysia to apply for a MyKad for the first time (at age 12) or to replace a damaged or lost MyKad.
“The public is reminded not to spread false information and to scrutinise each piece of news they read and receive to maintain public order,” read the statement.
It also urged the public to call JPN at 03-8880 7077 or send an email to [email protected] for any inquiries or to verify any information. — BERNAMA
