PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has raised concerns about the current economic policies, emphasising the need for a balanced approach that drives the nation forward while ensuring no community is left behind.
Speaking at the launch of the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35), Anwar highlighted the importance of leadership in adapting to new sectors and technologies, and the necessity of inclusive participation in economic growth.
“Our affirmative policies for Bumiputera must be carefully planned to ensure that they do not exclude other communities. In Malaysia, our policies must consider the needs of all ethnic groups, including Orang Asli and other indigenous communities,” he said at the launch of PuTERA35 on Monday.
He expressed appreciation to those who have contributed opportunities and plans, as highlighted by Economic Minister Rafizi Ramli in the Bumiputera economic transformation initiative.
Nonetheless, he underscored the collective responsibility of all government agencies, companies, and ministries to closely oversee and ensure the success of these programmes and plans.
Anwar called for collective commitment to achieving the goals of PuTERA35, emphasising that with unity and determination, the nation can overcome its challenges and ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from Malaysia’s progress.
