PROTON Holdings Bhd has officially introduced the highly anticipated 2025 Proton X70, a model that promises a perfect blend of refined design, advanced technology and enhanced performance.
The launch was officiated by CEO Li Chunrong and Deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah held in Putrajaya today,
The new lineup features four distinct variants: The 1.5 TGDi Standard priced at RM98,800, 1.5 TGDi Executive (RM110,800), 1.5 TGDi Premium (RM123,800) and top-tier 1.5 TGDi Premium X, available for RM126,800.
Roslan said 2025 Proton X 70 is designed for Proton users who align with four specific criteria.
“Our market research shows that typical Proton X70 buyers are successful individuals who stay connected to the world, are actively involved in higher-level activities to help others and live active lifestyles,” he said.
The 2025 Proton X70 introduces several key enhancements under the theme of the “Four R’s”: Refined Design, Redefined Connectivity, Researched Safety and Responsive Performance.
This SUV seamlessly combines cutting-edge technology, sophisticated design and meticulous attention to detail, making it a worthy successor in Proton’s lineup.
Aesthetic updates are a highlight of the new X70, with a front grille featuring a songket-inspired infinite weave design, sleek full-LED headlamps, redesigned front and rear bumpers.
The introduction of a new Marine Blue colour option and newly designed wheels further elevate the vehicle’s look.
On the technology front, the SUV is the first Proton model to offer wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, available via an OTA update.
It also features a new 12.3-inch floating-style infotainment touchscreen equipped with advanced hardware. Owners can conveniently start the engine, adjust climate settings, and unlock doors remotely using the Proton Link mobile app.
The Premium and Premium X variants also include an Advanced Driver Assistance System with Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities.
Roslan emphasised the extensive development behind the new X70, noting that Proton invested 290,000 man-hours in research and development, with the vehicle undergoing over 4.2 million km of road testing.
To celebrate the launch, Proton is offering an early bird package for the first 3,000 customers.
Early buyers will receive a cash rebate of RM7,000, trade-in overtrade support of RM2,800 (or RM2,000 for vehicles from other brands) and upgraded Proton insurance programmes.
The insurance coverage includes key care up to RM2,000, flood relief up to RM2,000, child seat coverage up to RM500, personal accident coverage for passengers and accident relief allowances.
Each purchase also comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, six free labour services and a 1GB monthly in-car data quota for five years.
Notably, the 2025 X70 lineup has been streamlined from six to four trim options, with the 1.5 Executive AWD and 1.8 Premium AWD variants discontinued.
