Law, who is also the organising chairman of state’s official events, in a statement today, said that the investiture ceremony to confer the Penang state awards, medals and honours will be held for four days starting tomorrow until Aug 1.
He was previously reported as saying that all official events and celebrations in conjunction with Tun Ahmad Fuzi’s 75th birthday celebration this year had been postponed and would only be held from July 21 to Aug 1.
Law said this was because the original dates of the celebrations overlapped the date of the installation ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th King of Malaysia on July 20.
However, the date of July 13 has been declared as the state’s public holiday in conjunction with the Governor’s birthday. — BERNAMA
