THE government has introduced the Rahmah Mobile Prepaid Package specifically for secondary school graduates who are continuing their tertiary education in public institutions of higher learning.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the Rahmah package is offered at a lower price, not exceeding RM30, with a minimum initial data of 30GB for a validity period of 180 days.
“This programme is offered to current students at public universities and public skills training institutions (ILKA).
“From Aug 16, students can subscribe to the package under five telecommunications providers including CelcomDigi Bhd, Maxis Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), UMobile Sdn Bhd and YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (Yes),” he said during the IPRM Conference on Ethical and Responsible Communication in conjunction with the World Public Relations Day celebration today.
The Rahmah Mobile Prepaid Package is an expansion of the Rahmah Mobile Internet (prepaid) Package introduced in 2023.
“I urge all eligible students to take advantage of the package in a collective effort to harness technology for a brighter and more prosperous Malaysia,” Fahmi said.
He also said the effort is a strategic collaboration between the ministry and telco service providers, in line with the aspirations of the Madani government in addressing the rising cost of living, particularly to assist students during their studies.
