MMEA helicopter crashed off Pulau Angsa, no casualties

A MALAYSIAN Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) helicopter crashed in the waters off Pulau Angsa, Selangor, this morning.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) CEO Datuk Norazman Mahmud said that a AgustaWetland helicopter model AW139 with the registration number M72-01 departed  from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, Selangor at 9.10am for a training flight before losing contact with the air traffic control just 10 minutes later.

“Kuala Lumpur Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (KLARCC) at Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre (KLATCC) was immediately activated to determine the location of the helicopter.

“A total of four persons including pilots were onboard and there were no fatalities reported. All survivors were rescued by a rescue helicopter and landed in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport at 10.58 am,” Norazman said in a statement.
