THE National Higher Education Fund Corp (PTPTN) recently launched its Cabutan Wow! Simpan SSPN 2024 campaign.

Running from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2024, the campaign offers a chance to win over RM1.3 million worth of prizes for 983 winners.

It comprises an Annual Draw and five Series Draws, each centred around distinct themes such as festivities and National Day celebrations.

This year’s Annual Draw introduces a new twist with three categories, namely Silver, Gold and Platinum.

The top prize for the Silver Category is a Proton S70 Flagship X car, while the Gold Category winner will receive a Proton X50 Flagship car, and the Platinum Category winner will take home a Proton S90 Flagship car.

The second prize for the Silver category is a Yamaha NVX 155cc motorcycle, for the Gold category the prize is a Yamaha XMAX 250cc motorcycle, and a Yamaha MT09 motorcycle for the Platinum category.

Third place winners will receive cash prizes of RM10,000 for the Silver category, RM20,000 for Gold and RM30,000 for Platinum.

As for the Series Draw category, the main prize for each series is RM10,000 cash, and there are 180 consolation prizes of RM500 each for every series.

PTPTN, operating under the Higher Education Ministry, has actively promoted saving habits through Simpan SSPN since its inception in 2004.

The project aims to enhance financial literacy among Malaysians and encourage saving for education.

The foundation is dedicated to establishing Simpan SSPN as Malaysia’s leading educational savings product, aligning with the First Thrust of the PTPTN Strategic Plan 2021-2025.

Hence, efforts to promote saving habits persist through intensified campaigns and promotions, exemplified by various initiatives.

Since 2015, Simpan SSPN has served as PTPTN’s flagship annual programme by organising campaigns that signify its gratitude to Simpan SSPN depositors.

To take part in this initiative, depositors are required to open an account or increase their savings throughout the campaign duration.

For every net deposit of RM50 in Simpan SSPN Prime, participants will receive one entry into the draw, while for every net deposit of RM50 in Simpan SSPN Plus, they will automatically qualify for two entries.

PTPTN chairman Datuk Norliza Abdul Rahim highlighted said the campaign offers added benefits to users of the myPTPTN application as they will receive double the number of entries.

“Depositors of SSPN Prime Savings who deposit a net sum of RM50 via myPTPTN, salary deduction or direct debit will receive five entries.

“Furthermore, Simpan SSPN Plus depositors who deposit a net amount of RM50 through myPTPTN, salary deductions or direct debit will receive 10 entries,” she said in a statement.

PTPTN also honoured the winners of last year’s Cabutan WOW! Simpan SSPN Annual Draw category.

Grand, second-place and third-place winners received RM150,000, RM50,000 and RM10, 000 in cash prizes respectively.

Additionally, PTPTN also announced rewards for the primary victors of the Cabutan Bulan Menabung Simpan SSPN (BMS) 2023 campaign, comprising RM10,000 in cash for the main winners and two consolation prizes of RM1,000 each.

Towards the end of 2023, the total Simpan SSPN deposits reached RM17.39 billion across 6.25 million accounts.
