Tourism Malaysia has entered into a three-year memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) starting next year to prepare and catapult the nation’s tourism sector.
Its Director General, Datuk Dr. Ammar Abd. Ghapar said the strategic alliance signifies an unwavering commitment to elevate Malaysia’s allure as a global tourist hotspot.
“By combining the strengths and resources of Perodua and Tourism Malaysia, we not only aim to increase the number of tourists but also their overall satisfaction.
“We want every visitor to leave Malaysia with a deep sense of admiration and a desire to return.
“I believe that this collaboration will be a model for the partnership between the public and the private sector in this country and will showcase the potential of this kind of partnership to drive progress and prosperity,” he said during the ceremony in Kuala Lumpur today.
The MoC will enable both parties to accomplish various significant objectives that will have positive impacts on the tourism industry and the national economy.
Meanwhile, Perodua’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, stated that the collaboration’s objective aligns with their ‘mobility is a lifestyle’ initiative.
“Through the collaboration, Perodua will develop its new business model, especially vehicle subscriptions and at the same time get real-time feedback from foreign tourists about their views on Perodua,” he said.
