JF Tech forms JV with Shenzhen-based company

JF Technology Bhd has formed a joint venture (JV) with a China company to design and manufacture electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials, thermal interface materials and absorbing materials.

Its wholly-owned subsidiary, JF International Sdn Bhd (JFI) and HFC Industry HK Ltd, a subsidiary of Shenzhen HFC Co Ltd, has agreed to incorporate HFC Tech Sdn Bhd.

HFC Industry will be invest RM3.2 million for a 80% stake in the JV company while JFI will invest RM800,000 for a 20% stake, according to JF Technology’s exchange filing yesterday (Nov 14).

It said Shenzhen HFC specialises in integrated research and development, manufacturing and sale of EMI shielding materials, thermal interface materials, wave-absorbing materials and ferrite.

It presently serves a diverse range of industries and applications, including artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor, smartphones, electric vehicle (EV), telecommunications as well as electronics manufacturing services (EMS).

Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, Shenzhen HFC currently has over 400 employees, backed by 20 years of operating track record since its establishment in 2003.

JF Technology MD Datuk Foong Wei Kuong said its new facility in Kota Damansara has ample space to facilitate the establishment of manufacturing and design hub for the JV.

“Shenzhen HFC is a pioneer in the use of graphene materials for heat dissipation in Al chips. Thus, whoever controls the material science of graphene for this application, potentially controls the industry,” he said.
