BMW M 1000 RR gets M Competition Package enhancement

PUSHING the boundaries in the world of two-wheeled performance, the BMW M 1000 RR was given a sporty enhancement by BMW Motorrad Malaysia to further amplify the formidability of the superbike for an unparalleled riding experience, along with elevated visual allure.

BMW Group Malaysia MD Hans De Visser said as the most anticipated BMW M-powered motorcycle in the BMW Motorrad portfolio, the M Competition Package given to M 1000 RR stands as a testament to technical innovation and extraordinary craftsmanship.

“The M Competition Package is expertly designed for riders who love the thrill of a track-focused ride paired with enhanced equipment and aesthetics.

“We are confident the M 1000 RR will continue to ‘Make Life A Ride’ for our many loyal customers, owners and enthusiasts in Malaysia,” De Visser said in a statement.

Retaining the formidable chassis design that is trimmed for race track use, De Visser highlighted that the addition of the M Competition Package allows the M 1000 RR to showcase cutting-edge aerodynamics that lends the superbike a striking exterior and additional sports-oriented equipment that guarantee a stylishly powerful riding experience.

“The addition of the M Competition Package also gives the superbikes a new swingarm in anodised aluminium -220g, along with a range of new equipment including the M Brake and Clutch Levers.

“The Brake Lever Guard, M Endurance Chain and M Rider Footrest are also offered in the new variant, providing riders with a touch of racing aesthetics without compromising safety,” he said, adding that the package also lends the new variant a sprocket cover, chain guard, as well as side and tank covers. Thanks to the M Competition Package, the powerful water-cooled inline four-cylinder four-stroke engine in M 1000 RR now comes with the M Engine Protector.

“The M 1000 RR also retains the intelligent 6.5-inch TFT display, powered by an OBD interface for the now-standard M GPS-Laptrigger,” he said. Optional accessories available to the superbike are windshields in three variants, namely the tinted, bubble and bubble-tinted options, along with the M Datalogger and M Cover Kit. The two-wheeler comes in the iconic colour combination of Light White, Racing Blue Metallic and Racing Red.

The retail price (on the road, with BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s all-new three-year warranty and three-year roadside assistance programmes, without insurance) for the M 1000 RR with M Competition Package is RM289,500. Deliveries is expected to begin in 2024.
