ETIQA General Insurance Bhd and Petotum, South-East Asia’s first pet ecosystem platform, have introduced a pet insurance plan known as “PAWer Insurance”.

Petotum, as the technology partner, will integrate its platform with Etiqa’s insurance solutions, leveraging innovative features including cashless admission for participating panel veterinary clinics.

With PAWer Insurance, the first in Asia of its kind, pet owners can experience a seamless insurance claim without a hassle upfront payment process as it can be done fully online.

In terms of coverage, Etiqa will cover the cost of the injury or damage with a reimbursement of up to RM50,000.

Etiqa CEO Fukhairudin Mohd Yusof said this partnership aims to offer comprehensive insurance products that protect what matters most to pet owners, combined with seamless customer experience.

“PAWer Insurance is a testament to Etiqa’s dedication in realising its corporate mission of ‘Making the World a Better Place’, by protecting pets and spreading awareness of its importance.

“Our collaboration with Petotum represents a significant leap in innovation within the insurance industry and sets a new standard for convenience,” he said in a statement.

In securing more involvement in the veterinary industry and reinforcing responsible animal ownership practices, Etiqa and Petotum are also calling the veterinary clinics to register as panel vet clinics with Petotum.

Petotum CEO Afifah Basir said the collaboration is a testament to the positive impact technology can have on the lives of pets and their owners and will set a new dimension to responsible pet ownership and insurance in the region.

“Our platform’s integration with Etiqa redefines the online insurance purchasing experience.

“We believe it will not only benefit the pet industry in Malaysia but also serve as an example for responsible animal ownership worldwide” she added.
