Local retailers top net buyers on Bursa Malaysia last week

LOCAL retailers were the top net buyers on the local bourse for the week ended April 21, reversing its net selling trend for three consecutive weeks.

They net sold RM158.3 million, the largest since the week ended Feb 10, according to a fund flow report from MIDF Research.

It noted that the local retailers have net bought for eight out of 16 weeks this year, with a total of RM108.14 million.

In the same period, which saw a shortened trading week on Bursa Malaysia as Friday was declared a public holiday in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, foreign investors and local institutional investors were both net sellers.

The top three stocks net bought by foreigners were RHB Bank Bhd (RM12.1 million), Pentamaster Corp Bhd (RM8.1 million) and Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (RM7.0 million), the report added. — Bernama
