CelcomDigi, TIME dotCom to offer affordable internet access

CelcomDigi supports the government’s aspirations to reduce the cost of living, primarily for Internet services for the underserved communities through the Pakej Perpaduan Jalur Lebar Tetap (Fixed Internet Broadband Unity Package) initiative announced yesterday.

This is particularly for the bottom 40 per cent (B40) income group, the elderly, persons with disabilities (OKU) and army-police veterans,

In a statement today, the group said it will be working closely with the Ministry of Communications and Digital to announce these offers soon in line with its aspirations to drive affordable access across all segments and walks of life.

Meanwhile, TIME dotCom (Time) said it will make its 100Mbps Pakej MyKabel plan available to Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) residents  within Time coverage areas.

Under the Pakej MyKabel plan, it said a RM30 monthly rebate will be offered on its standard 100Mbps plan, priced at RM99 a month, bringing it down to a monthly commitment of RM69 for the contract duration.

“This move is in line with the government’s Pakej Perpaduan initiative, that Time welcomes and fully supports,” it said.

Time noted that the 100Mbps Pakej MyKabel plan offers unlimited data with symmetrical upload and download speeds coupled with a router for a 24-month contract.

The plan is currently available at the PPR Kampung Baru HICOM, PPR Kota Damansara, PPR Lembah Subang, PPR Taman Putra Damai, and PPR Kerinchi, all in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur while other locations include PPR UDA Utama, PPR Taman Perling (Jalan Rawa 1) and PPR Taman Perling (Jalan Rawa 7) in Johor.

“Time will continue to roll out this targeted offering in phases to selected locations to make gigabit Internet access available to even more Malaysians. This offering will be available from March to December 2023,” it added.
