POS Malaysia Bhd has launched the first collaboration with Petronas Dagangan Bhd’s (PetDag) Café Mesra to create a cafe and retail experience at its post offices.
The partnership will see post offices at pilot locations equipped with Cafe Mesra offerings for customers.
As of now, the three pilot locations include the General Post Office (GPO) Dayabumi in Kuala Lumpur, Post Office (PO) Taman Sri Tebrau in Johor and GPO Shah Alam in Selangor.
Post Malaysia group CEO Charles Brewer said this Store-Within-A-Store (SWAS) project is to leverage its millions of sq ft of retail space across more than 600 locations to provide consumers with incremental choice and convenience.
“We sit on this incredible retail footprint that connects all Malaysians across every kampung, town and city, and we are very happy to partner with Café Mesra.
“It is all about delivering the smile in the last mile, and now our customers will be able to save time and buy from a great selection of food and beverages (F&Bs) at our pilot locations.
“We are really excited about our retail transformation strategy and look forward to announcing more exciting updates soon,” he said in a statement on Jan 18.
Meanwhile, Mesra Retail & Café Sdn Bhd COE Ian Malcolm Cruddas said the pilot locations are a testament to its pursuit of making its customers’ everyday lives simpler and better through Petronas’ network access and offerings.
“We are thrilled to partner with Pos Malaysia to open our 41st Café Mesra outlet that supports our aspiration to deliver quality yet affordable coffee and food experience to customers,” he added.
In July last year, PetDag launched Café Mesra, a new venture to further grow its non-fuel portfolio in the F&B business.
The café’s range of offerings includes barista-quality handcrafted coffee, featuring its signature Mesra Latte.
To celebrate the launch, Café Mesra is giving away free coffee with RM100 minimum spend at the GPO Dayabumi outlet and free doughnuts for any bill payment and parcel drop-off.
