THE National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Yayasan Veteran ATM (YVATM) to safeguard the education needs for the children of Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) veterans.
Both organisations will work on scopes such as child-saving incentive programmes, scholarships, and improving the wellbeing of the children through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, among others.
Through this collaboration, YVATM will contribute RM1,000 in education savings to 1,000 children born in 2022, into the SSPN Prime Savings account.
With an RM1 million allocation, the donation is to ensure that these newborns can pay for their higher education after the age of 18.
In addition, YVATM also incentivised a total of RM215,500 through the SPM Excellence Incentive 2021 programme to 431 children of ATM veterans.
Under this programme, every student will have an SSPN Prime Savings account worth RM500.
PTPTN also donated RM50,000 for 500 ATM children or ATM veterans who successfully continued their studies at Tun Abdul Razak University (UNIRAZAK) in the form of a Simpan SSPN Prime account through the Scholarship Programme.
That is to inspire the students to save for their education instead of relying on student loans.
The MoU was signed by Jabatan Hal Ehwal Veteran DG Major General Zambery Jefry Darus (second from right)while PTPTN was represented by its CEO Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid (second from left).
Also present during the signing ceremony were YVATM CEO Lt Col Azwadi Jamian (Retired) and ATM Veteran Foundation Zakat Fund contributors Desatera Sdn Bhd, Koperasi Tentera, Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd and YVATM Education strategic partners, namely UNIRAZAK and LTAT Foundation.
