Syed Zainal Abidin is now DNeX’s chairman

DAGANG NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) has redesignated its MD Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir (picture) as executive chairman with effect from today.

He replaced Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat who resigned from the position on Dec 6 to pursue other corporate interests.

Syed Zainal Abidin, 60, joined DNeX’s board in July 2020 as an independent non-ED. He was then appointed as MD in October 2020.

He had previously served as Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (Petronas) VP for downstream marketing and as MD of Petronas Dagangan Bhd.

DNeX’s share price closed 0.5 sen lower at 54.5 sen today, valuing the group at RM1.72 billion. — TMR
