Sunview bags RM122m EPCC contract from Nextenaga

SUNVIEW Group Bhd has secured a RM122 million engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract from Nextenaga Sdn Bhd for the development of a 29.99 megawatt (MW) large scale solar photovoltaic (LSSPV) plant in Bukit Badong, Selangor. 

With this latest contract, Sunview’s unbilled orderbook balloons to RM765.6 million and is set to be recognised over the next two financial years ending March 31, 2023, and 2024.

The LSSPV contract entails the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of solar energy generating facilities, solar power producer (SPP) interconnection facility and SPP works, as well as obtaining necessary approvals for the EPCC project and interconnection facilities.

Works for the LSSPV plant are expected to commence not later than Dec 31, 2022, and the scheduled completion date shall be Sept 30, 2023. The scheduled commercial operation date is Dec 31, 2023, which is subject to execution of supplementary power purchase agreement (PPA).

Sunview CEO and ED Ong Hang Ping said moving forward, the group is looking to tender for more EPCC of solar PV, biogas projects and to participate in the latest virtual PPA with a total quota of 600MW as announced by the government to further bolster the company’s orderbook and provide financial visibility over the next few financial years. — TMR / pic courtesy of Sunview
