BNM international reserves expand to RM483.8b as of Nov 30

BANK Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) international reserves amounted to US$109.7 billion (RM483.78 billion) as at Nov 30 2022, up from US$107.5 billion as at Nov 14, 2022.

“The reserves position is sufficient to finance 5.3 months of imports of goods and services, and is 1.0 times the total short-term external debt,” the central bank said in a statement today.

BNM said the main components of the international reserves were foreign-currency reserves (US$98.2 billion), International Monetary Fund reserves position (US$1.3 billion), special drawing rights (US$5.5 billion), gold (US$2.1 billion) and other reserve assets (US$2.6 billion). — TMR / pic by TMR
