International Project Management Conference 2022 to drive progress, sustainability in era of disruptive technologies


PETRONAS will host the International Project Management Conference (IPMC) 2022 on Dec 12 and 13, 2022 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. In collaboration with ExxonMobil, MISC and Shell, the conference will see the sharing of industries’ best practices, lessons learnt, cutting edge technologies, processes, and tools to navigate this era of disruptive technology and sustainability.

The theme, “The Era of Disruptive Technology and Sustainability”, aims to explore the disruption to conventional business models in creating a new breed of project management practitioners who are capable of innovating and navigating technology disruption in a sustainable manner in response to world demands.

IPMC 2022 will also be supported by more than 20 organisations including industrial associations from five disciplines, namely oil and gas; new energy; maritime and shipping; building and infrastructure; and digital.

Among the variety of topics in discourse include future project management, inclusion and diversity, and multiplier effects from successful projects.

IPMC 2022 chairman Noor Ilias M Idris noted that project management and all its adjacent industries are in a period of profound change. 

“The conference aims to discuss how we can leverage these new opportunities and challenges to drive greater progress for businesses and communities at large,” he said in a recent statement.

The conference looks set to showcase no less than 20 local sponsors and exhibitors, providing opportunities to both market and network while leveraging on exclusive content as well as gaining top tier project management insights through engaging topics designed to provoke thought and dialogue.

Among the headline speakers are Macrosolutions founder and Managing Director, Dr Ricardo Vargas, who will drive the keynote on day one titled “The Era of Disruptive Technology and its Impacts on Businesses, Projects and Initiatives.” Green Project Management founder Dr Joel Carboni will also participate, addressing the topic of sustainable project management through a keynote on day two of IPMC 2022.
