ACCEPTING the 15th General Election (GE15) result as the people’s choice, Pejuang Tanah Air chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will now shift his focus to writing on topics related to country’s history and activities.
The nonagenarian said although he is saddened by the party’s devasting lost where they failed to win any of the 125 seats it contested in the recently concluded GE15, he accepted it as the people’s choice.
“With our dismal performance, we could not even be in part of the Opposition in the Dewan Rakyat. All our plans for the country have to be drop.
“The only thing Pejuang could do is just watch the direction that the winning parties will take,” he said on Twitter.
On that note, he hoped the winning parties could form the new federal government and that they can resolve all the country’s problems.
Moving forward, the two-time prime minister (PM) said he will focus on topics related to country’s history and activities.
“There are many events that happened in the country which goes unrecorded, including those that happened during the British era,” he said, adding that he is open to being interviewed by writers for this.
In GE15, Dr Mahathir failed to retain his Langkawi parliamentary seat he won in GE14 after losing in a five-cornered fight to Perikatan Nasional’s candidate who won by a margin of 13,518 votes.
