PELABUHAN Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Corp Bhd, recently brought joy to the young patients of Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru with new toys, books and educational materials, as well as goodie bags and McDonald’s Happy Meal Boxes.
In partnership with Johor Port Authority (LPJ) and Ronald McDonald House Charities, 40 PTP and LPJ volunteers visited and helped to refurbish the children’s playing area at the hospital’s Paediatric Clinic and Ward.
Every year, about 10,000 children receive treatment at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital, of which many come from as far as Mersing, Kota Tinggi and Kluang.
The Pediatric Clinic treats various illnesses but focuses on treating children with Thalassemia, especially with regards to their bi-monthly blood transfusion treatment.
“The corporate social responsibility initiative is therefore part of an effort by all parties involved to spread cheer among the warded children.
“We also want to show utmost appreciation to the doctors and nurses for their high commitment in caring for the sick children,” PTP said in a statement. — TMR
