KUALA LUMPUR – Today is the nomination day for Malaysia’s 15th General Election (GE15).
The nomination process will take place at the 222 nomination centres nationwide from 9am to 10am.
A total of 222 Parliament seats nationwide and 116 state assembly seats from three states – Perak, Pahang, Perlis – are up for grabs in the polling slated for Nov 19. Nomination and polling for the Bugaya state assembly by-election in Sabah will also be held on the same dates.
State Assemblies led by Pakatan Harapan (PH) – Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Penang – along with Perikatan Nasional (PN) led Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu will sit out GE15. There will not be elections for state assemblies led by Barisan National (BN) – Sabah, Melaka and Johor – as all three states already held their elections in 2020, 2021 and 2022 respectively. Sarawak state assembly too will see no election as the state election was held in December 2021.
