Lazada Malaysia to boost competitive advantage for LazMall brands, sellers

Lazada Malaysia will be introducing LazMall Priority Delivery to enhance the consumer shopping experience and increase brand offerings to their customers.

Its chief executive officer Alan Chan said this delivery option allows buyers to have their packages delivered in an expedited time frame for increased convenience.

“Lazada Malaysia continues to invest in technology and innovative solutions to help LazMall brands and sellers uplift customer experience, engagement and retention for long term business growth,” he said in his speech at the LazMall Gala Dinner here yesterday.

Alan said that augmented reality (AR)-powered features such as Virtual Try-On enables consumers to select and try on beauty products in real-time, allowing brands to provide a customised and ultra-realistic virtual shopping experience.

Recently, a Lazada Sponsored Solution (LSS) report found that 53 per cent of Malaysian consumers are now searching for products directly on eCommerce marketplaces instead of using search engines.

Chan said  that 50 per cent of eCommerce purchases are unplanned due to the search-led discovery and product recommendations as 96 per cent of Malaysians use the search function to discover products on Lazada.

“With 89 per cent of shoppers found from the search result, 94 per cent ended up buying these products,” he added.

Alan shared that the number of active sellers on Lazada has grown by 68 per cent within the first seven months of 2022 and LazMall saw 75 times sales uplift compared to non-sale days within the first hour during the 9.9 Brands and Beyond Sale.

He also observed a 40 per cent increase in customers and 30 per cent increase in total orders, compared to the previous Epic 10th Birthday Campaign in March.

“We expect this growth to accelerate, especially with the most anticipated and ‘Biggest Sale of the Year’,  the upcoming 11.11. and 12.12 the ‘All-Out Year-End Sale’,” he added. – BERNAMA
