AIRASIA’S Super App is set to become South-East Asia’s biggest hotel booking platform after signing a partnership with more than 50 major hotel groups from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Under the app’s “airasia hotels” feature, users can now select from an extensive array of hotel options according to their budget which further adds convenience and value.
airasia Super App works directly with hotel partners where they are able to leverage on AirAsia’s strong brand presence and connectivity network, aside from a daily active user database of 1.25 million who are scouring for travel deals.
In turn, the app would bring more marketing opportunities and visibility for each hotel partner while also offering competitive rates.
There are more than 700,000 hotels worldwide that users can select from the airasia Super App where they are also able to redeem their points, and pair their fights and hotel bookings in one seamless transaction via SNAP.
With the “Best Price Guaranteed” scheme, which will be launched soon, the platform will also guarantee the best hotel prices.
According to airasia Super App CEO Amanda Woo, the team will now begin to scale up their demands after recently completed their back-end and all their operation platforms.
“Going forward, we hope to convert at least 10% to 15% of those passengers who are flying with us.
“So, imagine 10% or 20% of people, which is 100 million passengers, are going to get the numbers,” she said during a press conference.
Woo also revealed that they are looking to penetrate into Indonesia’s large digital economy market.
“Our first target market will be Jakarta after which it will Bali and then the other cities in Indonesia.
“When we come into Indonesia, we want to be smart. Indonesia is a great thing for us to come in and want to make sure that we were extremely successful,” Woo added.
Apart from Malaysia and Indonesia, Woo mentioned that they will also focus on Thailand and Manila in the Philippines soon.
“However, with the entire travel market opening, we have mapping of footprint together with our airline users today, we’re going to go beyond the Asean market.
On the other hand, Capital A Bhd CEO Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes Tony Fernandes (picture) explained that they are the only travel super app that also owns an airline group.
“With the revival of travel now and the capability of the airasia Super App’s strength as an online travel agent (OTA), reinforcing our hotel booking platform is crucial to capture and fulfil market demand.
“It’s all about having a complete travel ecosystem that would create better value for our customers. And being an OTA, which owns an airline, allows us to offer products such as SNAP — our flight and hotel combo platform, creating better uptake for our hotel partners while providing travellers a better booking experience,” he said.
