PAYMENTS Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) has forged a collaboration with Discover Global Network to allow card-holders to perform balance inquiry and cash withdrawals at local ATMs, for a start. This means that Discover Global Network, Diners Club International and network alliance cards can now be used in Malaysia.
The national retail payments network for Malaysia and operator of the shared ATM and MEPS ATM networks have entered into a collaboration with the global payment brand of Discover Financial Services.
The launch extends international and cross-border transaction capabilities for Discover Global Network and network alliance cardholders, fulfilling the demands of its growing global clientele. The related cardholders can now perform balance inquiry and cash withdrawal transactions at participating local ATMs.
PayNet card services director Azrul Fakhzan Mainor said PayNet is committed to expanding collaborations with international partners to enable acceptance of cards from other countries and elevate cross-border payment flows.
“Visitors from other countries to Malaysia can now enjoy the convenience of local currency withdrawals at participating ATMs. Next is to enable them to make purchases by just tapping their cards,” he said.
