AUTOMOTIVE parts manufacturer EP Manufacturing Bhd has received a manufacturing license from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to assemble two-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs).
In an exchange filing yesterday, the automotive parts manufacturer said the licence was granted to its wholly owned subsidiary EP Blueshark Sdn Bhd on Sept 26 pursuant to Industrial Coordination Act 1975.
EP Blueshark plans to import two-wheel EV components in semi knocked-down and/or completely knocked-down form and assembly, manufacture and localisation of certain components in Malaysia for distribution in the local and Asean region, it said. The manufacturing and assembly activities will take place at Glenmarie, Shah Alam in Selangor.
On March 8, EP Manufacturing signed a memorandum of agreement with China-based Sharkgulf Technologies Group Ltd and CIS Pride Silver Rock Fund to diversify its next-generation EV business. — TMR
