PRASARANA’S ridership has reached an all-time high since the outbreak began.
Ridership in August 2022 increased significantly, with a total of 21.67 million ridership compared to 13.89 million in January 2022.
Klang Valley’s ridership data has surpassed 20.54 million for the first time since the pandemic began in March 2020.
According to the data published by the agency on its website today, the Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit (LRT) had the most ridership (5.49 million), followed by Rapid KL (4.63 million), Kajang Mass Rapid Transit (4.51 million), Ampang LRT (4.29 million) and KL Monorail (1.03 million).
This year, Prasarana provided approximately 125 million rides for Rapid KL, 7.2 million rides for Rapid Penang and 532,000 rides for Rapid Kuantan.
Ridership has steadily increased since January 2022, with figures indicating that more people have been recently using the public transportation system than at any time prior pre-pandemic time.
