THE Finance Ministry (MoF) has dropped the retail price of RON97 petroleum by five sen to RM4 per litre effective Sept 29 to Oct 5, 2022.
Meanwhile, the retail prices of RON95 and diesel remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 respectively.
The weekly setting of the retail price of petroleum products is based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.
“To protect the consumers from global oil price increase, the government will maintain the ceiling prices of RON95 and diesel even though the market prices have increased beyond the current ceiling prices,” MoF said in a statement today.
It added that the government will continue to monitor the impact of changes in world crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure that the welfare and wellbeing of the people are maintained.
