BURSA Malaysia remained broadly lower at mid-afternoon today, as investors remained on the sidelines, waiting for further clarity in the market.
At 3.07pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slipped 11.64 points to 1,413.34 from Friday’s close of 1,424.98, after opening 1.15 points easier at 1,423.83.
On the broader market, decliners hammered gainers 794 to 135, while 255 counters were unchanged, 1,213 untraded and nine others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.44 billion units worth RM955.7 million.
Among the heavyweights, IHH Healthcare Bhd jumped 15 sen to RM5.95, while Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd was flat at RM4.01, Malayan Banking Bhd lost 10 sen to RM8.59, Public Bank Bhd and Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd were three sen easier at RM4.31 and RM8.32, respectively, and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd shed nine sen to RM5.30.
Of the actives, Aimflex Bhd was flat at 15 sen, Velesto Energy Bhd declined one sen to 12 sen, Top Glove Corp Bhd went down 1.5 sen to 63.5 sen, Dagang NeXchange Bhd eased 3.5 sen to 75.5 sen and TA Win Holdings Bhd edged down half-a-sen to 5.5 sen.
On the index board, the FBM Emas Index dipped 101.71 points to 10,095.67, the FBM 70 plunged 155.38 points to 12,276.41, the FBM T100 Index declined 91.42 points to 9,842.2, the FBM Emas Shariah Index trimmed 95.54 points to 10,142.66 and the FBM ACE weakened by 115.49 points to 4,651.14.
Sector-wise, the Energy Index was 32.51 points easier at 680.13, the Plantation Index shrank 118.8 points to 6,645.91, the Financial Services Index shed 148.3 points to 16,120.27 and the Industrial Products and Services Index gave up 1.88 points to 170.32. — Bernama / pic TMR File
