A TOTAL of 1,347 medical officers have received the Health Ministry’s (MoH) scholarships to undergo specialisation training in medical, dental and parallel pathway programmes for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said of the total recipients, 216 contract officers were awarded the specialist training programme (PLK).
“This scholarship is awarded to the contract officers for the first time ever since the contract appointment scheme was established in 2016,” Khairy said in a statement today.
He noted that the scholarships for the specialisation study programme through PLK is in line with the Cabinet’s decision to create an equal career pathway between permanent and contract officers.
“A total of 1,232 medical officers were offered the medical master’s specialist study programme, 54 officers for the dental master’s training programme and 61 officers for the parallel pathway programme,” he added.
Successful applicants can check the status of their offer of the full-pay study leave (CBBP) with the Hadiah Latihan Persekutuan (HLP) scholarship or the PLK with MoH scholarship via eHLP website.
Meanwhile, applications for CBBP with HLP and PLK with the MoH scholarship for those undertaking the medical and dental specialisation, or parallel pathway programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session, will open in October.
