FORMER Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak’s supporters said they hoped for victory as they gather at the Federal Court, Putrajaya, today.
It is believed that some of the supporters came from all across the peninsula including Pekan, Pahang, where Najib is serving as the MP.
Some of them were present since 6am, offering their gratitude to Najib while chanting “Bossku” outside the court and sending solidarity for him.
“We were here since 6am, gathered at Putrajaya Mosque and we came here because we want to know the truth,” said one group of supporters from Pekan.
“We are truly hoping for victory as he has brought economic benefits, especially to Pekan,” they said.
Representing Umno Nibong Tebal, Penang, Nor Hisham Ismail said he was here in solidarity with Najib and hoped the court will give Najib justice as he is confident in the latter’s innocence.
“We hope the hearing today will run smoothly and all the applications made by Najib’s legal team will be accepted by the court — we are confident he is on the right side.
“Most of us are here also work on our own so we don’t have problems coming, taking a day off and supporting him.
“We are hoping Najib can be fully absolved and that the court and judge are handling the case with justice,” he added.
Najib arrived at 9.20 in the morning for his final appeal along with his main lawyer, Hisyam Teh Poh Teik.
While the hearing continues, the supporters appear to be swarming outside the court and chants of “Boss Ku” and “Justice for Najib” can be heard on the other side.
The hearing is still ongoing, led by Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and a five-member bench of the Federal Court.
Najib is appealing his 12-year jail sentence and RM210 million fine.
