NATIONAL automotive company Proton Holdings Bhd has unveiled the updated version of the 2023 Proton Exora.

The new Exora gains a slew of changes for the 2023 model, including style upgrades, improved interior design and a new engine line-up, among others.

It also features tech upgrades such as a Smartphone Mirror Link system, as well as the addition of a reversing camera and sensors.

Proton deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah said the 2023 Proton Exora is designed and built for Malaysians who need a practical vehicle for their everyday needs while also enjoying the thrill of driving a performance-oriented SUV.

“We have taken our previous bestseller and enhanced it further for the discerning customer, and I am confident that this will be an attractive package for them,” he said during the launch at Proton KEB Auto Sdn Bhd in Taman Tasik Perdana, Kuala Lumpur, today.

Exterior-wise, the Exora gets a new bumper with the Proton logo gracing the front grille and tailgate; 16-inch alloy wheels in dual tone finish; and a black roof with black rear garnish.

Inside, the seven-seater MPV comes with a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel and armrests for the front seats, while each row of seats is equipped with individual air-conditioning vents for maximum cooling.

There is also a new infotainment system featuring a seven-inch touchscreen monitor, as well as a voice command system with a built-in GPS unit.

For safety, the Exora is equipped with two front supplemental restraint system (SRS) airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC) and emergency stop signal (ESS).

Internally, the MPV is equipped with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which produces 140ps of power and 205 Newton metre of torque.

A reversing camera and rear parking sensors are also available for confident reverse-parking.

It is available in five exterior colours: Snow White, Indiana Grey, Rosewood Maroon, Ruby Red and Cocoa Grey.

The 2023 Proton Exora is now open for bookings online and at authorised Proton showrooms.

Pricing starts from RM62,800 for the 1.6T Executive CVT variant.
