HILTON Worldwide Holdings Inc and Tradewinds Corp Bhd inked an agreement today to expand its flagship brand in Malaysia with Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi in Kedah.
The new take on marks Tradewinds’ fourth property with Hilton, following Hilton Petaling Jaya, Hilton Kuching and the recently announced Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur.
The 251-room resort is scheduled to be opened in 2024 and will be Hilton’s second property in Langkawi which complements The Nautilus Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton (expected to open in 2023).
The resort will also join Hilton’s established portfolio of hotels in Malaysia, where it currently operates 13 properties across three brands, with another nine in the pipeline.
Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi will be included in Hilton’s established hotel portfolios in Malaysia with 13 current properties operating and nine in the pipeline across three brands.

Meanwhile, Tradewinds MD and group CEO Muhammad Zainal Ashikin was delighted to continue the partnership through the upcoming debut of Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi.
“The resort marks our fourth collaboration with Hilton, underscoring the strong synergies between our companies. We are confident that Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi will be a fine addition to this popular leisure destination and will be well-received by locals and international visitors alike,” he said in a statement.
It will be equipped with an executive lounge and five dining concepts including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a pool bar, as well as spa, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness centre, basketball and tennis courts.
For guests looking to host social events and celebrations, the resort also offers an events space spanning approximately 800 sq m and a ballroom of approximately 400 sq m.
Nestled in Burau Bay along Langkawi’s western coastline, the resort boasts stunning views of Malacca’s Straits with a 600m beachfront with white sands and clear waters. The resort will also be surrounded by coastal rainforests, Gunung Mat Cincang, Seratosa Island and Burau Island.
Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi will also be easily accessible and situated a 15-minute drive from the Langkawi Airport and 40 minutes from the Kuah Jetty; as well as within proximity to popular tourist attractions — such as the Langkawi Cable Car & Sky Bridge, Pantai Cenang and Kuah Town.
