DOUBLETREE by Hilton has finally made its way to i-City, Shah Alam in Selangor.

The new 300-room luxury hotel is slated to be a game-changer in the segment for business travellers to Shah Alam, where it will feature its two signature restaurants which are Makan Kitchen and Tosca Trattoria Italiana.

There are also two stylish cafe lounges that guests can indulge in which are The Koffee and Axis Lounge which complement the business, recreational, retail and residential components at Finance Avenue in i-City with its top-class meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions facilities.

According to Hilton South-East Asia senior director of operations Jamie Mead, he has observed many upheavals the world has gone through while at the same time continuing to grow and serve its customers, being with the company for more than two decades.

“Hilton has been in Malaysia since 1973, and the DoubleTree by Hilton brand was introduced in 2010.

“I am proud to say that we have grown substantially with 13 operating properties, with the DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City being the latest addition, following the DoubleTree by Hilton in Putrajaya.

“This DoubleTree in Shah Alam is a fantastic example of the brand that brings with its 300 digital key enabled, well-appointed guest rooms and suites, boasting panoramic views of i-City,” he said in his opening remarks.

Hilton not only aimed to provide excellent experience and hospitality to its customers but also practices sustainability.

It is committed to reducing its environmental footprint to half and doubling its investment in social impact as a global commitment to reach its sustainability goal to reduce its carbon emissions by 50%.

“Each Hilton Hotel, including this new opening in Shah Alam will be part of our meet-with-purpose meetings and events activation.

“This hotel, in particular, will be the first in Malaysia to be introducing large size amenities to reduce the single-use plastics,” Mead added.

DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City is strategically located near the main meeting hubs in the capital of Selangor and is nearby many iconic destinations and activities which suit different travellers.

According to I-Berhad chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong, the new 300-room luxury hotel consists of thoughtful amenities which sets a new benchmark in hospitality to captivate the next generation of travellers on the i-City Finance Avenue.

“This expansion underscores our commitment to continuously contribute to the Selangor economy and further strengthen its tourism industry.

“The synergy between i-City Finance Avenue and DoubleTree by Hilton i-City is a perfect marriage that will leave a positive impact on the Selangor tourism industry,” he said in a statement.

The chairman also expects a total of 30,000 business travellers to arrive by the end of this year and targets at least 10,000 knowledge workers from the financial services, e-commerce and technology industries by 2023 in the i-City Finance Avenue.
