DATUK Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali (picture) is keeping mum regarding speculations that he has been elected as the deputy prime minister (DPM) by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
The International Trade and Industry Minister said the present government is a coalition, and not just based on one party, with Perikatan Nasional as one of the biggest components.
“I stress that my responsibility is to ensure that the current government remains strong. It is not just a matter of being DPM,” he told reporters at the launch of the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-Tourism Exhibition (Maha) 2022 in Serdang today.
He explained that the current government must be in a stable position to restore the economy and the effects of Covid-19.
In that regard, he said, the government should not get involved in political dramas that would only harm the people.
“I want politics that can serve the people and make sure that the two issues can be addressed,” he added.
