A NEW free messaging application, GrakChat, was revealed yesterday with features like e-commerce platforms and supported with “conversational commerce” (commerce) services.
Founded by Grak Networks Sdn Bhd, the platform also allows customers, merchants and online service providers to interact through GrakChat messaging.
With the tagline “From Malaysia For Malaysia To The World”, GrakChat provides all messaging needs such as voice calls, sending and receiving text messages, pictures, videos, voice recordings, file documents and video chats.
In addition, the application also offers a group chat service that can be joined by up to 50,000 members per group.
Moreover, GrakChat provides an interactive channel service which can be used to broadcast information directly to targeted recipients.
It also uses the SSL Encryption technology which guarantees user data protection.
The messaging application was established by a team of professionals with extensive experience in software development and mobile applications and fintech solutions.
It is also a joint creation of local minds like chairman Mohd Yusni Ismail, CEO Sazali Shahid and chief community and innovation officer Mohd Zainy Husin.
Sazali said the team aimed for 100% online shopping satisfaction by allowing users to detail their choices and obtain more information from service providers or online merchants quickly.
“GrakChat will be carried out in two phases, namely introducing and offering a Malaysian branded digital messaging service and offering e-commerce services supported by collection and delivery services as well as online payment facilities.
“Additionally, the platform will provide top-up services.
“GrakChat SuperApps will definitely boost the growth of our country’s digital economy and reduce the dependence on using messenger platforms from foreign countries,” he said during the pre-launch ceremony yesterday.
GrakChat is now available for Android users to download, while for iOS users, the app will be available by the end of August.
Meanwhile, Mohd Yusni said for the pre-launch, a memorandum of support was signed from 18 communities representing 1.5 million users.
“We expect by the end of this year, GrakChat will reach one million users,” he said.
