TENAGA Nasional Bhd (TNB) has fully restored electrical supply to all areas experiencing power outages at 3:02pm.

Power was restored in stages 20 minutes after the disruption occurred.

Electricity disruption started at 12:39pm due to damaged equipment at the Yong Peng North main inlet substation in Johor which caused a flashover.

It has resulted in load shedding of 2.2GW which is 10% of the total supply demand in Peninsular Malaysia.

“We apologise for any inconvenience experienced by users during this supply disruption,” TNB said in a statement today.

Besides Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Ampang and Kuala Lumpur (KL), power outages were also reported in Kuantan, Pahang and Seremban, Negri Sembilan.

This had also led to traffic light disruptions around the capital city.

KL City Hall said its traffic wardens had been instructed to monitor and control the traffic flow on major roads.
