PRASARANA Malaysia Bhd is focusing on achieving a zero-accident rate in all its premises and services through a Health, Occupational Safety and Environment Week.
This includes its Environment Day on July 26, Occupational Safety Day (July 27), Health Day (July 28), Security Day (July 29) and BRT Run (July 31).
The programme was launched by Human Resources Deputy Minister and National Council for Safety and Health chairman Datuk Awang Hashim.
The activities aim to increase awareness of safety, health and the environment, improve the quality of infrastructure services and increase the trust and confidence of the public in using the services provided by Prasarana group.
“Campaigns like this are expected to give more exposure and understanding to staff in complying with and achieving a safe work culture in the workplace, in addition to influencing the minds of employees and injecting positive enthusiasm to staff.
“In addition, the group has also responded to the government’s call to make Kuala Lumpur a carbon-free city by 2050 by making the LRT station green by reusing abandoned land at the station by planting trees.
“This aims to raise awareness and foster a spirit of love for the environment among LRT staff and passengers,” he said in a statement today.
