THE Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) inspected 864,973 premises nationwide last year.
“From the total number of inspections, a total of 10,586 investigation papers were opened for various offences with a confiscation value of RM36.15 million,” KPDNHEP Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said today.
“For the same period, the compound imposed was RM6.24 million and the total fine was RM1.66 million. Meanwhile, a total of 27,328 complaints have been received and all those complaints have been investigated and 100% of the complaint has been resolved,” he added.
As of June this year, a total of 489,567 premises have been inspected nationwide. From the total number of inspections, a total of 6,457 investigation papers were opened for various offences with a confiscation value of RM25.94 million.
For the same period, the compound charge was RM3.33 million and the total fine was RM167,530.00.
“A total of 6,706 complaints were received and 89.61% of complaints were successfully resolved,” Nanta Linggi added.
“As KPDNHEP’s minister, I am very satisfied with the high level of cooperation and commitment from all the staff of the enforcement division in helping KPDNHEP formulate policies and strategies for the benefit of the people. I believe that the contributions given by you ladies and gentlemen will continue in the future,” he said.
