PASIR Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (picture) lashed out at DAP MPs for their criticism of him on the Anti-Sexual Harassment Bill.

He interrupted Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said (Pengerang) during her debate bill, calling DAP women MPs “badmouths” and “like to incite people”.

“Only the behaviour of DAP women is indecent, not all but some of you…evil mouths, like to incite people, like to challenge the Speaker,” he said.

He was referring to Teo Nie Ching (MP Kulai), in which she had raised a point about him making sexist comments to female MPs.

“Don’t accuse us of disrespecting women at will. We help women a lot through Umno’s women’s wing and other organisations,” he yelled.

Opposition MPs, including P Kasthuriraani (MP Batu Kawan), S Subramaniam (MP Kepala Batas), Cha Kee Chin (MP Rasah), Steven Sim (MP Bukit Mertajam), and RSN Rayer (MP Jelutong), rose to object to his statement, calling it indecent and pleaded with the deputy president of the Dewan Rakyat to take action against him.

Rayer interjected, saying Tajuddin was going off-topic from the ongoing debate.

He asked Deputy Speaker Datuk Rashid Hasnon to take action against Tajuddin.

“Are you (Rashid) not brave enough to call him out for saying that DAP women are indecent? We are pleading to you, please take action (against Tajuddin),” said Rayer.

In response, Tajuddin told Rayer to “shut up”, sparking a ruckus in the Dewan Rakyat. However, the deputy speaker held firm, refusing to allow any intervention until the end of Tajuddin’s speech.

As the ruckus continued, Kashturi claimed that Tajuddin had made a lewd remark off the microphone.

“He just cursed while turning off the mic under your (Rashid) watch. Yet, you let Pasir Salak get away after making such remarks.

“You have the responsibility. If one of us (Opposition MPs) made such a statement, you would have asked us to leave,” she said.

After the altercation between Tajuddin and several Opposition MPs, he was eventually ordered out of the August House by Rashid.
