THE Finance Ministry (MoF) will allocate an additional RM100,000 to the Kuala Selangor District Education Office (PPDKS) for the build of the PPDKS complex.
This was in conjunction with Kuala Selangor’s ranking fifth in the state, which was the district’s best achievement for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).
Among the most notable schools were SMKA Kuala Selangor and SAM Tanjong Karang with their 100% pass achievement and SMK Dato’ Harun with a 92.49% pass.
Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz (picture) said the Education Ministry (MoE) had received the largest allocation of 16% (RM52.6 billion) of the total federal expenditure channelled this year.
“To provide conducive learning, a total of RM1 billion is provided for school maintenance and repair work, apart from RM42 million of Special Incentive for Teaching Aids of RM100 which was given to more than 400,000 teachers to help them provide the best teaching materials.
“Furthermore, the government will continue to strengthen the Special Education Agenda (RM50 million) to fund the purchase of teaching equipment and improve school facilities for special needs,” he said during the PPDKS annual District Education Staff Outstanding Service Award (APC) presentation ceremony recently.
It awarded 338 recipients including school teachers, officers and staff for their excellent services in 2021.
Also present was Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar who said the APC award was a government appreciation to public service officers who had performed excellently.
He also encouraged all schools in Kuala Selangor to adopt the “Program Prestige Tuisyen Rakyat”, which will be further enhanced with IT facilities.
“To date, about 4,600 secondary school students in Kuala Selangor have benefitted from this programme,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kuala Selangor District Education Officer Mohd Azuan Mohd Nawawi hoped that the APC award would strengthen the commitment of officers to take steps in realising the aspirations of the MoE to produce skilled students in physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and personality aspects.
“Schools in this district managed to make history in SPM 2021 where they achieved the average grade of 4.84, surpassing state-level schools (4.87) and national level schools (4.86),” he said.
He also stated that through the “Prestige Tuisyen Rakyat” programme, PPDKS provides online tuition and printed modules to the students.
