LEGENDARY powerhouse vocals showcased by soaring symphonic arrangements.
Pop music lovers and fans of Datuk Aishah Ariffin can look forward to her long-awaited solo concert with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) on Aug 6 at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) in Kuala Lumpur.
To be led by conductor Ahmad Muriz Che Rose, “Aishah & MPO: A Symphonic Rendezvous” will bring the audience on a musical journey as the songstress performs symphonic renditions of her beloved tunes including “Janji Manismu”, “Kemaafan Dendam Yang Terindah” and “Camar Yang Pulang”.
All songs are specially arranged for the concert and given fresh interpretations by arrangers such as Gerard Salonga, Luqman Aziz, Jenny Chin, Ahmad Muriz, Ilham Subri, Vivian Chua and Azhad Sulaiman.
Fans have been clamouring for Aishah’s first-ever solo concert with the MPO on the DFP stage after it was previously cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Her previous engagements with the MPO were as one of the featured artists for Malaysia’s “Virtual National Day 2020 Reception” concert and the “Semalam Di Malaya concert” in 2018.
The pop queen started her musical career in New Zealand as the vocalist for The Fan Club in the late 1980s and early 1990s, winning the International Artist of the Year at the 1991 New Zealand Music Awards. Aishah successfully launched a solo career in 1990 with her debut album “Aishah” and released 11 solo albums after leaving the Fan Club.
She has won numerous local music awards such as Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian’s first Most Popular Artist, Anugerah Industri Muzik’s Best Female Vocal in 1995 and 1996, as well as winning Astro’s Gegar Vaganza season four in 2017.
